I was offered the March box for My YA Reading Club in return for an honest review of this product.
The YA monthly box focuses on young adult stories – those that teens and grandparents can enjoy. Two categories are offered. Real World and Fantasy, and you can expect books and movies similar to the The Fault In Our Stars, Divergent, Paper Towns, and The Book Thief. The monthly boxes includes two books and DVD. The price for this box is $14.99. U.S. shipping is free!
What is inside the March box?
- The Coldest Girl In Coldtown by Holly Black
- Zom-B (book one) by Darren Shan
- Eragon DVD
- Signed packing slip
So, the lovely people over at Risqué Reads contacted me about their new YA subscription box and asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of their boxes for a review. I didn’t even need to think about that! Count me in! I was so thrilled with the their romance box that I had no doubts this YA box would be just as good. I am so honored this group asked me to review this new box. To give a little background, Risqué Reads is the erotic romance subscription box that US Sampleworks offers. They have seven other boxes including the new YA box! This company offers something for every reader! I didn’t even know about a few of them until this box came to me! I am particularly intrigued about My Sc-Fi club and My Thrill Club boxes. However, their romance (Risqué Reads) box is one of my favorite book subscription boxes out there. Trust me, there are a lot of them. The reason it is one of my favorite boxes is because the box contains books. Two, to be exact. Also, a little something extra. Nothing SO extra that it takes way from the books. Do not get me wrong, all the extras are fun, but the book is ultimately what I am after. I am a reader. It is the reading I want to do. Risqué Reads always delivered books by authors I did not know about. What a magic experience to read a new authors world! This box is also only $14.99. S, two books of your favorite genre for the price of one? This is a no brainer box to me.
Now that there is some background, let us talk about the My YA Reading Club March box. I listed the box contents in the beginning of this post. Mirroring the romance box, the YA March box had two books. The first one is The Coldest girl in Coldtown by Holly Black. I am not sure how many of you all have read any of Holly Black’s books, but she is fantastic. her books always take me surprise and the Coldest Girl reads like it is going to do the same things! I can’t wait! The second book is Zom-B by Darren Shan. I am not a huge zombie fan, mostly because I get too freaked out ha-ha, but I’m half way through this book already! I am curious about the zombie concept. I am always looking to learn more. So many people have their own version of how the zombie-pocalypse happens. Book one in the Zom-B series is wonderfully creepy though and I am pretty sure I’ll finish it pretty quickly too. If only I can remember not to read it before bed again. Not cool mr. Shan! 😳.
This new YA box is overall everything I could ask for in a book subscription box. Two books and a movie for a very reasonable price. It is perfect for those book nerds who want to expand their library but may not have the funds to do so. The only problem? If they keep sending such awesome picks for books, The two books may not last e until the next month! must pace myself…
