Favorite Reads of 2016

Here are my absolute favorite books that I read in 2016. These books attached themselves to my conscience and have not let go. The Serpent King and The Walled City have so many flags in them. If I had them turned around you would see a thrown up rainbow of page flags!

You guys!! We are already well into 2017! Can you believe how fast the year went? I cannot. I can’t even remember everything I have done so far this year! I was getting ready for this post and going over my Goodreads 2016 challenge and there are books on that list that I thought I read LAST year, as in 2015, so yeah. Lol my year pretty much flew by.
Here is the list my favs. It no particular order, because I can’t choose. Except if I had to…I’d put The Walled City first!

The Walled City by Ryan Graudin
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
The Forgetting by Sharon Cameron
Lola and The Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover

Each of these books took something from me. They also gave something to me as well. A Court Of Mist and Fury showed me that I can be strong no matter what. That I should never have to compromise who I am. Maybe Someday taught me that you can find love in the most unlikely of places. Lola and the Boy Next Door showed me if you don’t compromise who you are, you will still find your person. That person will love your perfect imperfections. The Forgetting reminded me that love will conquer all. Same with The Language of Flowers. Although the delivery method was a little more real, probably why I liked it so much. The Serpent King showed me I should always come first. I should always put myself first because if I do not, I will crumble. I cannot please everyone. The Walled City, where do I start with this one? The book showed me I could always be worse off than I am. In fact it reminded me that I have it pretty dang good where I am at. This book showed me that family means everything, and you should always do what you can for them. Also showed me that again; you can find love in the most unlikely places.

I really enjoyed my reading adventures in 2016. I hope my adventures are just as epic in 2017!

Thank you for reading!

Live Long and Prosper.
