The Stopover (The Miles High Club #1) by T. L. Swan.

Synopsis from GoodReads:
A memorable night of passion refuses to stay just a memory in this sizzling and scandalous romance from bestselling author T L Swan.
I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York. The food, champagne, and service were impeccable. The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better. He was suave and intelligent. We talked and laughed, and something clicked. Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night.
With no plans, we made our own. We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget. That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today.
I started a new job and met the CEO. You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk. But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. My life has changed, I have responsibilities. I just got an email. He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m. Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace. What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?
I am a sucker for a good loin book. The dirty the better in my opinion. HA-HA I say that but I couldn’t get through the first book in the Sleeping Beauty series by Anne Rice… awful books. She needs to stick to vampires. Any way…I digress. My husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday because my ten 8 year old Apple iPad Mini finally kicked the bucket. And with this Kindle came 30 days free Kindle Unlimited, or as the people in the know call it, KU. After the 30 days I was hesitant to keep paying for it, $9 a month. Nothing to break the bank but still. Thanks to the lovely people on Bookstagram I kept it, and I am glad I did! There are so many good books on KU, that are free. If you read just 2 books a month from there the $9 pays for itself. Winnin’.
Okay, back to the book. I have said in previous reviews that my pet peeve is a MC girl character that is a door mat. I. Can’t. Stand. It. But, I also understand that is the appeal of a lot of these smut books. I submissive girl that gets dominated by an alpha male. These books are also about a normal girl letting loose to BECOME a door mat so she can be dominated. That is what these books are, alpha/submissive. OR fining someone who knows you so well sexually that every time is body blowing. Every self respecting woman wants that, amiright? That is what THE STOPOVER is about. A girl who is not looking for love but has a one night stand with someone who is everything she isn’t looking for and BONUS he’s amazballs at sex.
What I like about this book and these characters is the MC girl, Emily, is working on her dream career. She’s doin’ her thing. It’s refreshing. And she isn’t a total push over! Like, whhaattt? Then we have Jim, Jay, Jamison. He is your typical mogul, loaded and body of the gods. Temper to match Zeus, too, but changes his ways when loves comes around and it gut punches him when she leaves. Nothing exciting or new here.
We all know we pick up these books for the sex scenes. I’m here to say it. I’m not embarrassed. I like what I like, and I’m not shy about sex. We shouldn’t be. “Sex is a part of nature. I go along with nature.” – Marilyn Monroe. This book had a lot of scenes. Not too many that it took over the book, but enough that we didn’t have to wait between filler scenes. These loin books are my go to when I feel myself getting into a slump or when I need a break from serious books. I’ve been reading back to back thrillers so I threw this book in to break up ALL THAT. This book was perfect for that. IT was a little long, towards the end I was like, OKAY lets get on with it. But then we did and it was great. The book ended refreshing too. Most of these books end with a proposal, marriage, and baby. We got one of three and I’m here for it. Not a typical ending and I’m here for it.
That’s all I can really say about it. It’s a good semi-quick read with some smut. If you’re into that sort of thing, this book would be a good pick! Thanks for stopping by! See you later!
